German songs have always been quite diverse. You can listen to everything from hip hop to classical to folk rock artists. German songs created by famous operatic composers such as Mozart and Bach really put German opera on the world's musical landscape.

Later composers such as the likes of Ludwig Von Beethoven and Richard Wagner furthered German opera with their beautifully arranged songs and melodies.

Through out the following years German songs and melodies went about many changes with many new song styles and arrangement methods being introduced. German composers, musicians and music students alike are creating both exquisitely classical songs as well as more fun and modern arrangements.

Today the songs and musical tastes of the German culture are quite eclectic to say the least. German opera is still quite popular and there are many up and coming new bands producing music that the younger generations go crazy over. From old school styled folk and classical arrangements to more hardcore metal and trip hop there is most certainly nothing boring about German songs or the German music scene.
