Ode to Hildegard
A neighbor toting a gun
Put roadworkers out on the run
She said, Oh please, don't cut down my trees
Or this gun will spoil your fun.
When troopers arrived to contest her
Eventually they had to arrest her
Though she faces a charge
It's not very large
But the issue continues to fester.
At first it seemed to confuse her
But now it seems to amuse her
Though it's not over yet
It is a sure bet
That somebody will be the loser.
But here is the part that is best:
By the time that it all comes to rest
There's been a big change
Home on the range
We've brought back the old Wild West.
